Cheek Kiss.

(Source: Google Images)
Last night something profound happened. J was eating his icecream and we were carrying on a casual conversation. However, when I decided to leave the room, I leaned over and kissed him on the cheek andthen the following conversation took place.
J looks at me andsays, “aww.”I coyly respond,“what?”He says, “that wasreally sweet.”And in my sarcasticnature, I reply, “sometimes.”
The conversation was as light-hearted as the gesture. I feltcompelled to give him a small smooch before exiting the room and he noticed. AsI walked up the stairs to focus on one of my million to do list items, thisinteraction replayed in my mind.
I realized a gesture as small as a kiss on the cheek canprove to your husband that he is loved. It’s the motiveless gestures that meanthe most. As ladies, we are always looking for romance (another topic foranother day--- don’t even get me started). We want someone to grab our hand andshow us the world. But how many times to we initiate romance into our dailylives? How many times do we speak love and adoration to our spouse without themearning it? I know for me, sometimes cheek kisses are few and far in between.
I regret that I often overlook the small things I can do todaily love on my spouse. However, I’m grateful for wisdom to recognize when I’moff base. As women, we get so caught up in our to do list we often push our menaside. This interaction reminded me to seize the opportunities I have each dayto show him exactly how much I love him.

Couch 2 5K

I'm the type of chick that has always struggled maintaining a consistentexercise regimen. Start. Stop. Start. Get hyped. Stop. Do you get the picture? It's exhausting!

So a few months ago, when my friend told me about the Couch to 5Kprogram that trains you to run 3.1 miles over eight weeks I was intrigued and downloaded the free app. I started training right away and it lasted for about two weeks and then I gave up because I lack dedication (start. stop. cyclical behavior gets old). However, three weeks ago, Ipicked up the app again and with an accountability partner, have been trainingmore regularly.

I love this program because it eases you into exercise whilebuilding endurance and discipline. I’ve found I enjoy exercise; I just lack thediscipline in my life to make it a habit. The Couch to 5K program is designed to build on your weaknesses by turning them into to strengths. (Check out the website for more details). LOVE!
There are so many ways to get started with C25K. You can print a schedule, memorize it, etc, but I highly recommend the free app because it helps you keeptime and allows you to listen to music while training.  It’s fantastic.
If you are looking for a way to incorporate exercise intoyour world and want to start slow, get this app and get off the couch.Seriously. You can thank me later!

Weekly Goals.

I like goals because they help you get things right... It gives you the opportunity to plan for tomorrow and I feel more normal and less anxious (I've got issues) when I know what's going on.  Sometimes forget to write down my goals but when I saw this quote recently, I thought... I know exactly what I need to do to get it right....

For the last couple of weeks, I've been trying to participate in the Closet Copy Cat challenge without success. Most of the time life gets in the way and I forget to link up or take a picture of my outfit, etc. However, when they posted a challenge of styling with a  graphic tee, I knew I was golden because rocking a tee is my go to style choice.

(Tee: J Crew, Jeans: The Limited, Shoes:Sperry's)
For this challenge, I seriously just got dressed like normal. The inspiration outfit paired the graphic t shirt with a hot orange skirt but being as consertative and lame as I am, I rocked the cardigan as a way to stay warm inside of the office (dress down Friday makes me HAPPY!).

For hair and make-up, I chose a no fuss approach. It was raining so the hair got thrown up and my make-up took around 5 minutes.
Is the graphic tee a style staple in your wardrobe? Because it is in mine whether I like it or not...

This week we were encouraged to incorporate white jeans (post Labor Day!) and master the art of the ever so popular cat eye. Although, I was a little bit paranoid about rocking white after Labor Day, I received several wonderful comments on my outfit. My favorite compliment was "Oh you look so European!"(I LOVE European style!)
I chose a longer silky shirt in UK Blue (or Royal Blue for non-UK fans!) and nude flats. I wanted to show off the cat eye in the photos but the sun was so incredibly bright... Normally, I wear this shirt with black flats and black pants but I was excited when I stepped out of my comfort zone for this challenge.

Do you wear white after Labor Day? If not, you should.
